Our Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 52nd movie VELAYUDHAM has been launched successfully on July 15th wherein it was just like a family event organised at Madras University, where more than 5000+ fans from various disctrics thronged the place just for one man, thats our Ilayathalapathy.The entire Velayudham crew along with Vijay's parents and wife Sangeetha Vijay were present for the function.
The function started off very well, where in a baton which was taken all over Tamilnadu by fans,was handed over to vijay after which the auspicious pooja was done, after which the script was handed over to Vijay officially by his father, S.A,Chandrasekaran, Producer Aascar Films and Editor Mohan.Then a teaser trailer which was shot during the photo sessions was screened for the fans, which made everyone stunned to see some fresh looks of Vijay.
Genelia and Hansika were first to speak and said they were very happy to work with such an established actor like Vijay, which was followed by Vijay Antony's speech,saying that, the movie would turn out to be a runaway hit for the year 2011 as he was bounded over the story and the narration style of director M.Raja.
Director Raja also said that he was very happy to work with such a big star and also added that, he was very happy to have a function amidst all fans,wherein they are the real judges of every movie and added that, this movie would turn out to be a good entertainer,which would satisfy all kinds of audiences.
Then a book titled " Nayaganin Sarithira Padivugal" written by Vijay's PRO , P.T.Selvakumar was also released by Vijay and the book contains entire life history of Vijay along with some exclusive pictures and also the struggles he took to come up to a level he is now.
Vijay was all praise for Aascar Ravichandran, as he said, he had never seen such a grand function for any of his film opening and expressed his gratitude to him for organising it in a big way.Ravichandran already had some plans to invite a big shot as he did for Dasavatharam, but Vijay had said to Ravichandran that,the function can be made simple as he is not that big hero, which clearly indicates how simple Vijay is,in life as well as in attitude.Vijay was also very happy for having this function amidst all his fans since he said " I am now in this position because of you all".Vijay also added that, he was happy to be associated with Genelia, as he remembered his screen presence with her in his earlier movie Sachien .On Hansika Motwani, Vijay said that she looks like Kushboo in Chinna Thambi and also expressed his like to work with her.
All fans who were present were complimented with a T-Shirt which has a Vijay logo on it and also with Briyani.
